Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of the MedUZa app ("Meduza — Yangi Mualliflar"). They apply whenever you install or use the app. By using MedUZa, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

About the service

MedUZa is developed and run by Ozodbek Xayrullayev, an individual developer based in Tashkent city, Sergeli district, Uzbekistan. In these terms, "we" means the developer and "you" means the person using the app.

MedUZa is a reading app with e-books, audiobooks, quizzes about books and a community of readers. It focuses on new Uzbek authors and works in Uzbek, Russian and English. The app is available on Android through Google Play. An iOS version is being prepared for the App Store.

Your account

You can browse the catalogue as a guest. To read, listen or make purchases, you need an account. You sign in with a Google account or, on iOS, with Sign in with Apple.

If you first signed up with Google and later try to sign in with an Apple ID that uses the same email, the app offers to sign you in with Google and links your Apple ID to the same account.

Personal data

We process personal data in line with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Personal Data". What we collect and how we use it is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Age

If you are under 13, you may use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Pearls

Pearls are the app's internal virtual currency. You use them to unlock books and audiobooks inside the app. You can get pearls by:

  • buying a pearl pack: 100 pearls, 300 + 30 bonus, 600 + 100 bonus or 1500 + 400 bonus;
  • receiving the Premium bonus;
  • taking quizzes.

Pearls have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, transferred to another account or withdrawn.

Premium subscription

Premium is available as a monthly or a yearly subscription. It includes:

  • access to all books and audiobooks in the catalogue;
  • bonus pearls: 100 pearls every month on the monthly plan, or 1200 pearls on the yearly plan;
  • no ads inside the app.

Prices are shown in the store in your local currency before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it here:

  • iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions;
  • Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions;
  • in the app: Shop → Premium → Manage subscription.

Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

Payments and refunds

All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card details.

Purchased pearls are non-refundable, except where the law or the refund rules of the App Store or Google Play require a refund. Refunds are requested from Apple or Google, not from us.

Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, open Shop and tap Restore purchases. You need to be signed in to the same account you used to make the purchase.

The books and audiobooks in MedUZa are protected by the copyright of their authors and rights holders. You get access to them for personal, non-commercial use inside the app. You may not:

  • copy or redistribute the content;
  • extract files from the app;
  • bypass access restrictions.

Your content

Other users of the app can see your display name, avatar, activity, reviews and your position on leaderboards.

Your reviews, display name and avatar must be lawful and respectful. Do not post insults, spam or other people's personal data. We may remove content that breaks these rules, and we may restrict or suspend accounts for violations.

How the app is provided

The app is provided "as is". We work to keep it available, but we cannot guarantee that it will run without interruption. The content of the catalogue may change over time.

Purchases through the App Store

If you buy through the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

Deleting your account

You can ask us to delete your account and your data. The steps are on the Delete Your Account page. Deletion is permanent: unused pearls and purchased content are lost. An active subscription is not cancelled automatically, so cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan. If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it through negotiation. Please reach out using the contacts below.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The new version is published on this page. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new version.
